"Cyrus has a unique singing voice. Her range tops out below a lot of men’s, but she has unnerving power and hyperbolically precise pitch control"
Randomly, I found out recently that her voice got much deeper because touring at an early age and heavy smoking had overstressed her vocal chords. She had a surgery on her vocal chords in 2019 to address it.
Also, small thing: "primal scheme" above probably should be "primal scream". (either that or she did a cover of EGA that I absolutely need to hear ...)
I refuse to listen to AI generated music or look at AI generated artwork (at least intentionally). As someone who does do research in human-AI interaction, I probably should as this has become quite the rage in the HCI community and I am at risk at becoming out of touch with the trend as a result.
I can’t explain why. It just is to be quite honest. Also, since we’re on the topic of covers, here’s a tiny desk concert by Justin Timberlake where he basically re-imagined many aspects of his classic songs.

I think you'd be remiss to allow a Miley cover discussion without mentioning "On a Roll": https://youtu.be/BTsW30Ur0sg?si=rWsDdcmBIFFAGy4B

Ben, I was unaware of Miley's cover of "Heaven or Las Vegas". Thank you.
Dude, you left out her cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie!” https://youtu.be/N8qx4nn0liY?si=fFU6XJQSjnJu5TLP
Came for AI content, stayed for Miley Cyrus.
She also won me over with her covers. But her old songs with her "new" voice are incredible as well.
I can recommend the entire live album "ATTENTION: MILEY LIVE" from 2022.
Not only covers, but also mashups, like We Can't Stop + Where Is My Mind
